I designed the RISD 2012 yearbook with the concept of an open canvas. Graduating students can creatively fill the absence with their own design, and share and store their memories from RISD in their own way. In the end, each yearbook is unique and personal.

Emptiness as Limitless Potential

“...emptiness doesn’t mean “nothingness” or “energy-less”; rather, in many cases, it indicates a condition, or kizen, which will likely be filled with content in the future. On the basis of this assumption, the application of white is able to create a forceful energy for communication.”
